Suri alpaca accounts for a small fraction of all alpaca fiber, and baby Suri — the first shearing of the youngest animals — is rarer still. Where most alpaca scarves are woven from the softer, fluffier Huacaya fiber, this one is made entirely from Suri: long, silky locks that hang in lustrous strands and drape with a fluidity that reads as effortlessly refined rather than deliberately dressed up.

The double-face construction reverses cleanly between two tone-on-tone colorways, finished with a fine eyelash fringe at each end. At 71" long and 11.5" wide, it works equally well wrapped at the neck under a coat or laid across the shoulders over one. Artisan-woven in Peru by Inca Fashions, IAA certified since 2004 — the first US company to earn that distinction. The kind of piece that arrives as a gift and stays for years.
