Description

NEW! Our Alpaca Home Bed Blankets made from 100% Pure Baby Alpaca Wool are unequalled.

100% Baby Alpaca Wool creates the dreamiest of blankets - alluringly minimal, and and undeniably luxurious. Woven from only 100% Natural un-dyed premium baby alpaca; softer than cashmere, it has zero itch or prickle - no one wants to dream under an itchy blanket.

Alpaca fleece is known for being hypoallergenic, which means it doesn’t cause allergic reactions they way sheep's wool can. Free from lanolin, it doesn't hold onto dust, dander or other particulates that can cause nighttime agitation. Its low moisture content creates an environment where bacteria and bed bugs can not survive. Your bed will attain a whole new level of sanctuary.

Alpaca is one of natures most thermal of natural fibers; it has evolved over time to protect the alpacas from the harsh climate and temperature swings that occur in the Andes, -4F at night, to 70+F in the daytime.  Air pockets in each gossamer hair trap the bodies heat making far warmer than wool or cashmere. Too much heat though can be just as bad as not enough. Superior breathability inherent in alpaca fleece wicks away any moisture and even reduces the humidity around your body, creating the perfect environment for your individual sleep needs.

Don’t let the extraordinary lightweight and premium feel fool you, alpaca is 3 times warmer than sheep's wool at the same weight.  Alpacas are rugged and survive long winters, harsh weather and huge temperature swings, evolving in such a way that makes the fleece exceptionally durable. This is why alpaca wool lasts longer than other luxury fabrics - wool, cashmere, and silk combined.

Alpaca wool repels stains and odor while possessing a natural water-resistance that allows you to simply blot away minor spills, should they occur.  Naturally flame retardant, it will not ignite and is a low transmitter of static electricity. Shocking! We know!

The pure premium Baby Alpaca fibers create a luxurious blanket that rivals all other. Meticulously hand woven, each is finished with a crochet edge which is a traditional way of finishing blankets in Peru.

Care - Alpaca fibers resist stains and odor, which means this blanket needs minimal cleaning.  We encourage you to hang your Alpaca blanket outside, in direct sunlight, to air it out occasionally as washing is not recommended and may cause the weave to shift.  If ever you do need to clean your Alpaca blanket please dry clean, or green dry clean only. Storage: If you’re storing your blanket long-term, it’s recommended to dry clean it first and store it in a breathable container with lavender or cedar sachet to maintain its high quality.
