A Bed Blankets made from Alpaca Wool is your solution if you are looking for a blanket that is softer than wool, snuggly warm and natural.
Alpaca bedding will keep you more comfortable than any other cotton, acrylic or wool bed blanket, because it breathes, keeping you warm - not hot. Many people tell us how they have experienced improved sleeping comfort and ultimately a better night’s sleep.
No bed is complete without this luxury addition. Go-ahead turn down your thermostat! Alpaca is naturally thermal, insulating the animals from the temperature swings that occur in the Andes, -4F at night, to 70+F in the daytime. The thermal properties work for humans too! Alpaca naturally wicks away moisture, keeping you in your perfect micro-climate and deters bed bugs. It will keep you warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
One night under this blanket, and you'll wonder where has it been all your life?!
Note: Alpaca wool is hypoallergenic, so this throw is ideal for those with allergies.

We strive to craft the finest blankets, period. That starts with the finest alpaca - soft, natural, dye free, expertly woven without the fuzz and hairy appearance of other alpaca blankets, so that you and everyone who snuggle under it, will be perfectly cozy. The super-fine alpaca fibers we use are expertly woven between micro fine acrylic threads, crafting a blanket that will not only be thermal, it will wash and wear beautifully providing years of enjoyment, without shedding. It is hand finished with a beautiful crochet edge, a traditional way of finishing blankets in Peru.
Each alpaca blanket is as warm as a heavy, bulky merino wool blanket, but at roughly 1/3 of the weight and thickness. Wool holds up to 30% of its weight in moisture, where as alpaca holds less than 8%. This means not only less bulk, but less humidity around your body while sleeping. This "hydromorphic" structure of the alpaca hair insures that Alpaca blankets do not retain odor so they need laundering less-often than others. Each is naturally flame retardant as well as hypoallergenic - free from lanolin & dander (again, an aid for allergy sufferers) and the uniquely thin fibers are on par with cashmere, having a softer feel than sheep' wool.
Care - Hand wash cold (or machine wash on hand-wash setting [newer washing machines only]), do not agitate, wring or twist. Fabric softener may be used. Do not bleach. Dry flat, away from sun, once completely dry briefly tumble on air to fluff or dry clean. Because the material resists soil and moisture-retention that leads to odors, so you will rarely have to clean your alpaca bed blanket.
Storage: If you’re storing your blanket long-term, it’s recommended to clean it first and store it in a breathable container with lavender or cedar sachet to maintain its high quality.
