About Inca Fashions:
Inca Fashions began in 1999 as the dream of one alpaca breeder, K. DeVos- Brooks, and was created to bring awareness to Alpacas and their luxurious fiber through the sale of gorgeous Alpaca garments and related products. Since then her interest in alpaca fiber has grown to be a full time passion and Inca Fashions into an international venture.
Our apparel items are designed in the USA by Inca Fashions. We have
developed standard US
sizing for our designs and are committed to bring you the finest alpaca
garments available.
We are participate in and are committed to the fair trade
and organic apparel fabricators in Peru
and Bolivia.
We work directly with artisans and their
knitting cooperatives -- building strong partnerships which produce sustainable
commerce and the finest quality. The artisans we work with are assisted by our
staff with quality control measures, production and planning management, as
well as tools to help them improve their business acumen.
Knitting in the Andean culture is a time-honored tradition that has significant
cultural meaning and purpose. In the past, razor sharp pencils, rigorous time
constraints and one-sided interests lead to poor workmanship, ill treated workers,
dissatisfaction and dysfunction. This ultimately does not yield financial
rewards for anyone, including you the consumer. Our prices are set together with the
cooperatives so that your purchase will economically enable these artisans to
guide their own development, facilitate their entrepreneurship and work to strengthen
pride in their craftsmanship in a way that sustains tradition, home, land use,
and community bonds while resisting destructive influences.
Inca Fashions minimizes the impact to our environment through the development
and use of the finest natural fiber; Alpaca. In 2010 we created the first ever ™Certified
Organic Alpaca line of apparel. In addition
to seeking our natural products needed in the fabrication and manufacturing
processes, we use high end blends of alpaca and silk as well as the finest
alpaca and wool.
We are proud to state that Inca Fashions clothing is manufactured from pure alpaca under environmentally and socially responsible Fair Trade principles. As an internet-based store, our fine natural fiber alpaca clothing is shipped worldwide via several brands: Alpaca Golf ®, Warrior Socks ®, Voodoo Fiber ®, and Inca Fashions ®.
Our items are branded by the International Alpaca
Association and carry the branding associated with Alpaca, Baby Alpaca and
Alpaca Blends. With your support, we can continue down this path to honor both
people and planet with peace and prosperity.
While the majority of the products on this site are designed in the US by our very own design team, some are designed by students (students can submit designs! Contact us via email for more information.). We encourage the use of alpaca as a medium within the textile arts, ever working to grow and strengthen awareness.
